Wow! What a difference a year makes. Right before Easter last year, we found out we were pregnant. We decided that we would tell our parents on Easter. My parents live about 20 minutes away from us, so we had plans to do brunch together.
I remember calling my mom on my lunch break to ask what I should bring. I was walking along the beach, and was literally beaming from the inside out! I wanted to tell her on the phone, but we had decided to give my parents a card and reveal it that way.
My husband and I showed up early to brunch. I knew I had to tell my parents right away, because I have never turned down a glass of wine. And if you have ever been a guest at my parent’s house, you know that the first thing they ask is, “What can I get you to drink?”. Wine, duh. But not today.
After my parents read the card, my mom said she could tell when she talked to me on the phone the other day. And you know what, I believe her.
I remember I posted a photo of me, with my niece. My friend commented that a baby looked good on me, and maybe I should think about having one. Gah! I just wanted to tell everyone! But I wanted to wait until the second trimester.
Fast forward to Layla’s first Easter. How could I not put her in bunny ears in a basket?! Enjoy the photos!
